Cincinnati vs Purdue Free ATS Expert Prediction issued by Julian Dread
The Cincinnati Bearcats look for another victory after cruising by Tennessee-Martin in week 1 and looking to stop them will be the Purdue Boilermakers. Purdue was also victorious in week 1 vs Eastern Kentucky.
The Bearcats defense allowed 177 rushing yards to Tennessee-Martin which should be an area of concern for head coach Tommy Tuberville. Purdue’s outstanding running back, Markell Jones, should be primed for a big game. Jones lead the Boilermaker’s ground attack last week, rushing 24 times for 145 yards and 1 TD.
Cincinnati is 1-4 ATS vs. a team with a winning record and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Boilermakers are 5-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record but 1-6 ATS in their last 7 home games.
Purdue isn’t one of the better teams in the Big 10 but still has enough talent to match Cincinnati at home. The Bearcats have lost 4 of their last 5 games on the road. Purdue returns 16 starters from last year’s team with veterans and experience returning at most key spots which should really help them in this particular game.
I like the way this game sets up Purdue. Cincinnati is a program in transition as they have new coordinators on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. They were a little sloppy last week which is why I am taking the +6 points at home.
