Los Angeles Dodgers (54-43) vs St. Louis Cardinals (51-44)
The St. Louis Cardinals host the LA Dodgers for a three game series this weekend. Tonight’s matchup features Brandon McCarthy (2-0, 1.69 ERA) vs Michael Wacha (5-7, 4.45 ERA).
Brandon McCarthy has been outstanding since joining the Dodgers rotation, allowing just three runs in 16 innings pitched, giving him a 1.69 ERA and a 0.75 WHIP to go along with a 2-0 record.
Corey Seager and Yasiel Puig are both questionable for tonight’s game. Seager has missed the last three games due to flu like symptoms. Puig left the last game due to tightness in his hamstring. Both players are key components to the Dodgers offense and Seager is the frontrunner for NL Rookie of the Year.
Michael Wacha had a rough start to the 2016 season. At one point from the end of April to the middle of June, Wacha was (0-7) with 3 no decisions. That’s enough to make any starting pitcher question his stuff. Wacha has since gone (3-0) with two no decisions.
Wacha hasn’t lasted more than 6 innings since the middle of June which is a concern for the Cardinals.
Stephen Piscotty continues his hot hitting, collecting 6 RBI’s in his last six games played. He now has a total of 13 RBI’s this month.
The 25-year old is having an incredible first full season in the Majors, hitting .295 with 13 home runs and 53 RBI’s, and now leads the Cardinals with 101 hits on the season. Piscotty will give Corey Seager a run for ROY.

Dodgers vs Cardinals Expert Prediction: Cardinals -105
The St. Louis Cardinals continued their strong play at home with an impressive comeback victory that capped a four-game sweep on Thursday. They look to extend their winning streak to five games tonight. Taking the Cardinals at home in this matchup. If Seager and Puig are missing from the lineup Friday night, the Dodgers will lack offensive production which should help Wacha get through the lineup. Look for the Cardinals to pull out the big home victory.
