Green Bay Packers (2-1; 2-1 ATS; 2-1 O/U)

Line: Packers -7
New York will need to rebound quickly after losing to the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football, 24-10. The Packers are coming off a BYE week and headed into the break with a 34-27 victory over Detroit on September 25th.
The Giants started the season 2-0 but they are now reeling a bit after losing two straight games. Odell Beckham Jr. has made headlines for the wrong reasons and seems to be frustrated with the lack of involvement in the Giants offense. We know a frustrated receiver leads to bad team chemistry. The Packers now know the Giants may force the issue of involving Odell Beckham Jr. and it could lead to poor decisions by Eli Manning?
Eli Manning is completing 66.4 percent of his passes for 1,186 yards, four touchdowns and four interceptions. Manning has thrown at least one interception in seven of his last 10 games. New York ranks 6th in the NFL averaging 382.2 YPG but they have only managed to average 18 PPG. They have now only scored more than 20 points once which was in their home loss to the Redskins.
Defensively, the Giants allowing 20.3 points and 339.7 yards per game which ranks them 11th in the league. The Giants have certainly improved their defense from 2015 but in the past 2 games the defense has allowed 29 to the Redskins and 24 points to the Vikings.
Green Bay’s BYE week may have come at the right time considering LB Clay Matthews (ankle/hamstring), DE Datone Jones (knee), S Morgan Burnett (groin), DT Letroy Guion (knee), CB Sam Shields (concussion), and TE Jared Cook (ankle) have all been dealing with physical ailments. All players except Shields and Cook practiced on Monday.
Aaron Rodgers has been spinning the ball well. Rodgers is completing 58.5 percent of his passes for 617 yards, seven touchdowns and one interception. Rodgers now has 10 touchdown passes in his last six regular season games. The Green Bay Packers ground game is averaging 100.3 yards per contest, and Eddie Lacy leads the way with 214 yards on 43 carries.
Defensively, Green Bay is allowing 22.3 points and 350 yards per game which ranks 13th and behind the Giants.
Giants vs Packers Prediction
We have two teams here headed in different directions. The Giants are beat up in their secondary and that’s not a good thing when going up against Aaron Rodgers. The Packers are well rested and it appears they have some key players returning from injury. The drama unfolding with Odell Beckham Jr. is a big red flag for this Giants offense and it may be just the beginning if he doesn’t get involved. Don’t be surprised if they try and force the issue leading to poor decisions from Manning.
New York is 1-5 ATS in its last six overall, 1-5 ATS in its last six against the NFC, 1-5 ATS in its last six following a loss, 4-10 ATS in its last 14 against winning opponents, and 0-6-1 ATS in its last seven on the road against opponents with winning home records. The Packers are 4-1 ATS in their last five overall, 10-3 ATS in their last 13 following a bye. Look for these trends to continue as this well rested Packers team will prove to be too much for the banged up and tired Giants team.
