Memphis vs Tulane Pick and Prediction by Joey Bergeron of Oddsboard.com
Memphis used a strong 2nd half to defeat the Temple Owls, 34-27, this past Thursday to improve to 4-1 (1-0 AAC) on the season. Now the Tigers travel to New Orleans to take on the Tulane Green Wave.
Memphis has the 31st ranked passing offensive which is led by QB Riley Ferguson who has thrown for 1360 yards, 11 TD and 5 INT while averaging 281.0 passing yards/game and 447 total yards per game.
Memphis will need to strengthen their defense, allowing 1155 yards over the past two games. Temple threw for 445 yards last week and the Ole Miss Rebels threw 361 yards on them the week before. The Tigers pass defense is now ranked 102nd in the nation. One key stat for this Tigers defense is they rank 37th in the nation in stopping the run allowing just 134 YPG. This is key because Tulane is a run based offense and rank next to last in passing.
Memphis Tigers Betting Trends
Tigers are 9-19-1 ATS in their last 29 games in October
Tigers are 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 Friday games
Tigers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings in Tulane
Tigers are 12-2-1 ATS in their last 15 meetings
Tulane has had extra time to rest after Hurricane Matthew postponed their game vs UCF. Tulane improved to 3-2 (0-1 AAC) the week before after they defeated the UMass Minutemen by a 31-24 margin.
Offensively, Tulane is a run-first team that ranks 19th in the country in rushing offense. They look to wear teams down with that ground game, which sets up behind a solid offensive line.
On defense the Green Wave have been strong so far as they are 13th in total yards allowed, 15th vs the pass, 42nd vs the run and 36th in points allowed, giving up just 22.4 ppg, but this may be the best offense they have faced so far this season.

Green Wave are 0-9 ATS in their last 9 Friday games
Memphis vs Tulane Pick and Prediction
This matchup sets up perfectly for the Memphis Tigers. Memphis’ pass defense is not good but they have a stout run defense. Tulane has no passing game and will focus primarily on the rushing game. The Tigers should be able to jump out to a sizable lead which will cause Tulane to get out of their comfort zone and go to the air. Tulane has played well against better teams in Wake Forest and Navy but they may have overachieved this season. The Green Wave meet a tough test on Friday and the Memphis Tigers will prove to be too much on Friday night.
