San Antonio Spurs vs Los Angeles Clippers
Free NBA Pick by: David Price of BetSheet.com
Odds: Clippers +1, 206
Time: December 23rd, 10:30pm EST
San Antonio Spurs
(23-5 SU, 15-12 ATS)
Two of the best in the West take center court Thursday night at the Staples Center. The Spurs are looking to keep their hot streak going after winning 9 of their last 10 games. The San Antonio Spurs are averaging 104 points and allowing 97.9 PPG.
San Antonio pulled off an incredible win on Tuesday night beating the Houston Rockets after going down by 13 with just 4 minutes left in the game. Manu Ginobili played a pivitol role in the comeback scoring 9 points in the 4th quarter. Unfortunately, the Spurs will be without Ginobili Thursday night.
LaMarcus Aldridge has played a big role for the Spurs in 2016, scoring at least 10 points in 23 of San Antonio’s 25 games this season.
The Spurs are 5-0 ATS their last 5 games but just 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 Thursday games.
Los Angeles Clippers
(21-8, 14-15 ATS)
The Los Angeles Clippers have also played well recently winning 7 of 10. The Clippers average 110 PPG while allowing 101.6 PPG.
While Chris Paul is the engine that makes this car run, J.J. Reddick has played very well so far this season averaging 15.5 PPG and is 44% from beyond the arc.
Los Angeles will once again be without Blake Griffen for an extended period of time. Griffin went down last week with another knee injury and isn’t expected back until late January. Griffen was averaging 21 PPG and 8 RPG which is big production they need to account for during his absence.
LA is 10-4 at home this season but that is pale in comparison to the Spurs 15-1 road record. This will be a tough matchup for the Clippers as they are playing a really hot Spurs team and they will be without their leading point getter.
Spurs vs Clippers Free Pick
What is David Price Predicting?
The Clippers are just 4-6 ATS their last 10 home games and while you could argue the Clippers may be a “better” team without Blake Griffen, they are facing a red hot Spurs team. The Spurs are 10-5-1 ATS on the road this season and let’s face it, the Clippers haven’t been too kind to bettors backing this team.
The play here is the Spurs -1 on the road for the SU win and to cover the small spread. It will be tough to win back-to-back road games vs potential playoff teams but this team is rolling and it’s tough to doubt they won’t continue vs this current Clippers team.
