We have a special event Wednesday night in the MAC as college football will be played on the South Side of Chicago for the first time since the White Sox’s stadium was built 25 years ago. Toledo will take on Northern Illinois at US Cellular Field which has only seen baseball played within this stadium.
Toledo improved to 7-2 following the 48-17 road victory at the Akron Zips as a -10 point betting favorite. The total went under 72 points. They bounced back from that home loss to Ohio. The Rockets were able to extend a 20-10 halftime lead. The team put up 622 offensive yards with 290 rushing for 6 yards per carry. Logan Woodside hit on 26 of 37 passes for 327 yards and three touchdowns. The Rockets finished with a +2 turnover margin.
Northern Illinois had a rough start, losing their first four games and six of their first seven. Northern Illinois is now (3-6) after a 45-20 home victory over the Bowling Green Falcons as a -17 point favorites and the Huskies have now won two straight.
Toledo has been very strong this season behind a powerful offensive attack. While Northern Illinois has played better of late, it’s hard to put a lot of faith in this team. Toledo is 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games against a team with a losing record and the Rockets are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game.
