Warriors vs Cavaliers NBA Pick & Prediction, 12-25-2016
Golden State Warriors vs Cleveland Cavaliers NBA Pick & Prediction by James Gunnar of KingSportsPicks.com
An NBA Finals rematch on Christmas Day. What could be better? The Golden State Warriors travel to Quicken Loans arena to take on the defending NBA Champions, Cleveland Cavaliers. Cleveland is fourth in the league in offense (110.8 ppg), while the Warriors are the best scoring team in the league (117.4 ppg). The court will be filled with NBA superstars and both teams are the top teams in their respective conferences.
The Warriors made a huge splash in the off season after losing to the Cavaliers in Game 7 of the NBA Finals. The addition of Kevin Durant has added another dimension to their offense and and it gives them three starters that average over 20 points per game. Durant leads the team with (25.9 PPG) followed by Steph Curry (24.4 PPG) and Klay Thompson (21.3 PPG). The Warriors rank in the top 10 in almost every offensive category but one area they could improve upon is their defense where they allow 104.1 PPG which ranks them 16th in the NBA. It’s questionable whether Draymond Green will play after the birth of his child but the Warriors hope he suits up. Green is the main piece in the Warriors defense and will play a big role in defending (agitating) LeBron.
The defending champs have won 12 of 16 and are once again running away with the Central Division lead. The Cavaliers seemed to have figured out a way to integrate Kevin Love into the offense and just like the Warriors, they have three starters averaging 20+ PPG. With Kevin Love playing like he did in Minnesota, this Cavaliers team has arguably gotten better than last year without the addition of another player.
Both teams will be coming off one day of rest and thrive in the spotlight. A featured matchup on Christmas Day is as big as it gets in the NBA with little competition from other sports. Look for both teams to put on a show that the NBA desperately needs to attract more viewers. I see this game going back and forth and while it may be tempting for bettors to take the Over, smart money is taking Under 223.5. The Under is 9-1 in the Warriors L10, 8-1 their L9 road games and 11-5-2 the last 18 meetings vs the Cavaliers.
